We are told CIA head of counter intelligence James Jesus Angleton was an ally of Golitsyn but I have my doubts. Was Angleton working on behalf of the Mossad to protect an agent of Soviet Israel? The Brits thought Angleton would believe the claims of Rothschild being a Soviet spy and yet we see the opposite according to Roland Perry’s The Fifth Man

The only other conclusion we could come to is that Wright and Angleton were both duped by the clever trickster Victor Rothschild
